The 2018 COSC meeting strives to achieve gender representation in line with the gender balance in our research community at varying career stages. The conference will aim to achieve this gender balance on its Local and Scientific Organizing Committees, through its session chairs and through abstracts selected for oral presentation as well as through invitations to plenary speakers.

The 9th COSC meeting is the first in this series to present a gender policy and to collate information on gender balance. Therefore, we are offering an opportunity for delegates to voluntarily disclose their gender and career stage at the time of abstract submission. This will provide important information for tracking and improving gender equality over time.
