How to Succeed as a Data Scientist in the Private Sector

The Centre for Monetary and Financial Economics at the Carleton University Department of Economics presents a one-day workshop with Nafis Sadat, Senior Data Scientist at Microsoft.

During the workshop Nafis will provide insight into the field of data science, primarily focused on the tooling needed to succeed in the industry of big data. If you are thinking of pursuing a career in data analytics, are unsure about how data science fits in the industry, are interested in getting an upper edge over other competitors and graduates in the job market, or are interested in learning how to work with enormously large data and how the backend works, then this workshop is for you. Attendees must bring their own laptop (with at least 4 cores and 32 GB of RAM) and have intermediate experience with some programming languages (ideally R or Python).
