Overview
Have you ever wondered about the workings behind a completed panel painting or fresco? We will explore the historical materials, methods and procedures studied and practiced by artists in the thirteenth through to the sixteen centuries. Learners will draw connections of theory with practice through their participation in a field trip to the National Gallery of Canada for our culminating session.

About the Lecturer
Nicole Sammut (she/her) works as a Learning and Development Specialist at Algonquin College and has taught in the Bachelor of Interior Design Program with Media & Design Studies, School of Business and School of Advanced Technology. She is a former member of the Board of Heritage Ottawa and the creator of the published poster, ‘Doors of Ottawa.’ She has previously taught two lecture series with the Lifelong Learning Program including: ‘Historical Techniques: Artists & Their Materials’ & ‘Canadian Architecture: An Exploration of the Buildings of Ottawa.’
